By Vadim Koshkin, MD, Jérémie Calais, MD, PhD, Thomas Hope, MD - Last Updated: October 31, 2023

Drs. Vadim Koshkin and Thomas Hope, of the University of California, San Francisco, and Dr. Jérémie Calais, of the University of California, Los Angeles, meet to discuss the recent findings of their clinical investigation, “Do Bone Scans Overstage Disease Compared with PSMA PET at Initial Staging? An International Multicenter Retrospective Study with Masked Independent Readers.”

In Part 1 of this series, the trio provides a background on PSMA PET scans for staging of primary and recurrent prostate cancer, compares sensitivity and accuracy of conventional versus PSMA PET imaging, and discusses the generalizability of previous clinical trial data based on patients staged with conventional imaging for current patients staged with PSMA PET imaging.
