Aditya Bagrodia, MD, FACS, of UC San Diego Health, and David Ambinder, MD, a urology resident at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center, walk through a community urologist’s initial approach to a patient who presents with a testicular mass, as well as considerations for orchiectomy and eventual cure.
Dr. Bagrodia begins by explaining how this is a common clinical scenario and what should be discussed with the patient, what serum tumor markers and other items should be addressed for a baseline workup, and whether patients are ever admitted for this workup. Then, he touches on when he considers a partial versus complete orchiectomy, followed by the components of complete staging.
